If You Have A Dating Preference, Are You A Bigot!?
Why do people get shamed for simply having a dating preference? Do we all have to prescribe the same ideologies as to what we deem to be attractive?
I spoke about racial preferences when it comes to dating a month or so ago. But what about all-encompassing preferences?
Your dating preferences are apolitical?
Some people claim that much of what we deem desirable has been largely determined and distorted by things like white supremacy, patriarchy, classism, colorism, et cetera. Some people have even claimed that this could be seen as an “apolitical attraction.”
Here’s what I’ve learned there’s no such thing as an apolitical attraction. I honestly think that a contributing factor to the problems that we have today in society is that people now attribute things that we once understood to be biological to sociological constructs or social conditioning. When in reality, that’s so far from the truth. Not everything is a social construct created by “evil cist men.”
Many of the things we do are inherently biological, whether we like it or not.
