Winston Churchill said, “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.” Now the trick is in discerning which dogs bark and bite. You’d be surprised how few of them do, and even fewer get the opportunity.
When it comes to first dates, dating, or even in a relationship, you must have full control over your ego at all times. Ignore the insignificant, petty disagreements. Do not let pride worsen your situation. Managing your ego in dating is like steering a boat through stormy waters; letting go of the wheel could sink the ship; now you’re both screwed cause you couldn’t muster appropriate and respectful communication.
Some battles you cannot win. Never start them in the first place. Know your limits and boundaries, and if someone crosses them, explain very clearly what they are or release them from spending them in your life.
Some battles you can win, but at too high a cost. It’s rarely, if ever, worth it. What do you win in the end?
