Is polyamory just a corny word for cheating?
No.
Cheating involves deception and violation of an agreement.
From what I’ve heard, the whole point of polyamory is not secrecy but openness, communication, acting with caring and integrity, and sharing love.
If cheating happens in a polyamorous relationship, and sometimes it does, it involves the same violations of trust and agreements and the same likely dire consequences as cheating in a monogamous relationship.
But every now and then, I’ll read an article that rams down our throats that polyamory is the way forward and that we mere mortals are foolish for even thinking that conventional monogamy actually works. These articles pop up every so often, and I’m compelled to read them and figure out if they have a good enough argument to make me explore those options.
So I decided to explore this subject and figure out if polyamory is really the future of modern relationships and marriages.
