What does that even mean?

The latest trend some women have jumped on more recently is refusing to give men that they’re dating…

“Boyfriend privedges”.

Have you ever heard that phrase been said? Or parrotted on social media?

“I don’t give boyfriend privileges until I’m your girlfriend.”

Or

“You don’t get boyfriend privileges!?”

“he wants/expects the boyfriend privileges but doesn’t put any effort in towards me?”

These statements are always a little odd to me.

Why?

It’s like dangling a false promise of commitment that, even if made, would be about as genuine as handing over a key to a door that doesn’t actually open.
