Modern Society Has Been Scamming Women for Decades

I’ll never forget the early stages of dating my partner. We were driving back from visiting her parents, and we were talking about raising kids.

She spoke to me about how much maternity leave her current job would give before she had to go back to work. I asked her if that was what she wanted.

She explained she rather stay at home raising the kids and possibly quit her job. The conversation went like this.

Her: You wouldn’t think I’m lazy if I stayed home and raised the kids?

Me: What!? Why on earth would I think that?

Her: You don’t think I’d be a dumb “stay-at-home” mum?

Me: Why would that make you dumb?

Her: I don’t know, all those videos on tik tok and youtube shaming stay-at-home mums and other women talking about focusing on their careers so their career doesn’t go to shit.

Me: Baby, you can do whatever you want. If we have kids, I’ll be there to support you every step of the way.
