Personal experience is not data. If one person claims the world is flat because they’ve only walked in a straight line, that doesn’t make it reality.
The fact that most trans narratives focus on male-to-female transitions should make you ask why—not blindly assume it proves male privilege. Maybe it’s because women transitioning to men lose social advantages they weren’t even aware of. Maybe it’s because men, on average, face harsher expectations, fewer emotional outlets, and less societal support. Maybe it’s because men are expected to struggle in silence, while women’s struggles are amplified.
Taking a TED Talk and calling it “illuminating” without challenging its biases is just intellectual laziness. Truth isn’t found in cherry-picked stories—it’s found in patterns, data, and the experiences of millions, not just one.
A single spotlight doesn’t reveal the whole stage—stop mistaking one story for the entire truth.
