Dating can be an exciting and rewarding experience. The journey of dating in itself can put you miles ahead with internal growth, but it can also be stressful and intimidating, and mortifying. For many people, dating anxiety is a common barrier to finding love and building meaningful connections.

Whether it’s fear of rejection, anxiety about meeting new people, or concerns about physical intimacy, dating anxiety can hold us back and make it difficult to put ourselves out there. There is research to support the idea that anxiety can be a barrier to finding love and building meaningful connections. According to a study published in the journal Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, social anxiety is a common predictor of difficulty forming and maintaining romantic relationships. Another study published in the journal Behaviour Research and Therapy found that individuals with high levels of anxiety about rejection were less likely to initiate and maintain romantic relationships.
