Self Publishing Day 16: Positive reinforcement

When you finally self-publish your book and you get it out there to the millions of people around the world and it sells barely enough copies to buy you a couple of blu-rays in the bargain bucket at BestBuy. You’d be remiss if you didn’t have a few moments of self-doubt. A few moments of wondering. Am I doing the right thing? Did I waste my time for 2 years? Am I supposed to be doing this?

That’s how I’ve been feeling the past few days, to be honest. That’s why I haven’t written that many posts. In addition to that, I’m on a KDP self-publishing group on Facebook. Someone was humble bragging about making 124 sales in a month. The catch? They have 46 low content books.

What’s a low-content book you might ask? It’s when people create a cheap-looking note bad or planner on Canva typically the free version and try and make money off it cause it’s easy and quick. Meanwhile here’s my dumb ass spending close to 3 years on one book. It really does put things into perspective.

But this is my passion. I generally love writing. Granted I’m not the best at it (Yet). But it’s what I love. I’m not on there to make a quick buck. I’m on there cause it’s what…
