Self-Publishing My First Book: Day 1

Holy shit I’m published. Holy shit. Self-published. But published nonetheless. I’ve spoken about it for 3 years but it’s finally here. And what do I have to show for it?

50 Sales in one week.

Not bad at all in my opinion especially because I had a goal of selling 100 by the end of the year and then going from there.

Granted I would wager that 25 of those 50 sales were from friends and family but 25 are people who know nothing about me or maybe some of them are from my TikTok, youtube, or Instagram. Either way 50 sales in a week is a great start. Or is it?

So I realized I messed up royally. I mean really messed up.

So on Saturday, I looked at my KDP self-publishing reports and I realized something. I didn’t make a single sell-on Saturday. In my mind because I sold 50 in week 1. If I did that for the next 52 weeks. I’d be on track to sell around 2600. So what happened? Not a single soul purchased my book on that day, why!?

I frantically scrolled down on the q&a board of the KDP website and kept looking at how I could do another 5-day free book countdown. I knew their free promotion was too…
