Self Publishing my first book: Day 38 — Optimizing Campaigns and sales

If you remembered in my last post I had been practicing with the idea of a week of pure writing and a week of book marketing, sales, studies, and anything that essentially isn’t writing or adding to a new book.

It’s been going well so far but I’ve noticed a few things that are quite, off.

So far I’ve spent $184.00 dollars on my Amazon PPC campaigns and I’ve made about $172.84. So yes as you can gather I’m losing money. But this is okay. I expected to not make any money in my first year of trying out this little experiment. So I’ve set myself a goal of just experimenting and not being scared of losing a couple of 100 bucks. Look, people spend $1000s of dollars on Uber Eats and going out to dinner every year. I see this as a return on investment by the knowledge I’ll get from months of failure.

Amazon optimization is a fickle mistress. But I’ve still learned so much. Something I discovered this week and a tip shared by this fine youtuber. He essentially makes a point of doing a single amazon PPC campaign on just one keyword. Meaning he wants to be aggressive and inject nearly 100 dollars a day on a single…
