Sorry, But Men Are Not As Lonely As You Think They Are…
I think living as a single modern man today is slightly harder than I anticipated. For starters, when I looked up the title on Google.
“The future looks bright for men.”
Here are some of the titles for articles on the first page.
- “The future looks bleak for the single man.”
- More Men Than Women Are Now Single. It’s Not a Good Sign
- For men and boys, the future looks bleak
- Single men are ‘the loneliest they’ve been in generations,’ a study says
For the record, I’m not angry at these titles. I get it; it’s far more financially beneficial to shit on men rather than help men; Heaven forbid they write articles about the increase of homeless men, the increase in male suicide, and how most men have virtually zero emotional support systems. I also am not too bothered cause a lot of these articles that I referenced are written by women. Like most other things in life, it’s effortless to have an opinion on a lived experience you’ll never have. I think the only thing that I find perplexing is straight women taking in glee in some of these single men’s apparent loneliness.
But let’s go back to the majority of people who are writing these articles; they don’t have lived experience.
