6. Pick Your Battles

Winston Churchill said, “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.” Now the trick is in discerning which dogs not only bark but also bite. You’d be surprised how few of them actually do, and even fewer ever get the opportunity.

When it comes to first dates, dating, or even in a relationship, you must have full control over your ego at all times. Ignore the insignificant, petty disagreements. Do not let pride worsen your situation.

Some battles you cannot win. Never start them in the first place. Know your limits and boundaries, and if someone crosses them, explain very clearly what they are or release them from spending them in your life.

Some battles you can win, but at too high a cost. It’s rarely, if ever, worth it. What do you win in the end?

A Pyrrhic victory will ruin you. Make your emotional and relationship battles worth your time and mental resources.

Why would you have an argument with grim odds when you don’t have to?

Your energy will always be limited. Don’t waste it.

7) Lose The Battles But Win The War
