The most recent news of actress Millie Bobby Brown’s engagement at 19 to a fiancé who’s only a year older has been met with more than a bit of controversy. People are whining on Twitter and basically predicting her marriage to be an abject failure eventually. That in itself is kinda of fucked up.
So is 19 too young to get engaged? Or are we being restrained by traditional societal norms? Why do people care so much about this when they don’t seem to care about people just a year younger joining only fans?
Why People Are Annoyed at Age Gaps
Now, I can empathize with the skeptics on some level. After all, the idea of such a significant commitment at such a young age can be hard to fathom for a lot of people because they’re still figuring life out.
